“What’s for dinner??”

I get this question within nanoseconds of walking in the door after work.  I love to cook and eat, but as a working mom, I don’t have a lot of time.

Over the years, I’ve tried to master the art of simplifying interesting recipes so I can make them into weeknight meals.  If there’s a way to make that recipe calling for three pans into a one-pot dish, I’ve probably figured it out.  The recipe that calls for browning spices in two steps?  Could probably be done all at once without sacrificing the quality of the dish.  Ergo, the Good Enough Gourmet.  If you need to get dinner on the table every night and want to make interesting, healthy meals without a lot of fuss, this blog is for you.

My name is Wendy and I live in Los Angeles with my husband and two kids.  I think that the family meal is the cure-all for most of society’s problems (only half-joking here), from childhood obesity to low literacy rates.  (There’s research to back me up, really!)  If the Good Enough Gourmet can help you get your family meal on the table, I’ll be gratified.  I’d love to hear from you, so feel free to comment on the recipes or any other posting.
